My Smile

Smile, like candies, can sweeten your heart.

Nurse, like an angel, guards patients with their needs.

School, like the society, has great competition.

Poems, like flowers, can be appreciated, smelled and tasted.

Similes

I'm reading Philip Yancey's Reaching for the Invisible God and enjoying its beautiful language. Observing how poor people tend to accept God more readily than rich people do, Yancey writes:

Grace, like water, flows to the lowest part.

Although it's not an explanation, it's a nice description of 'grace' using a simile - a figure of speech in which two unlike things are compared as if they are alike. This writing technique (known as a literary device) makes our writing more colourful and more beautiful.

Can you think of some similes of your own? I have created one:

Life, like chocolate, is sometimes bitter and sometimes sweet.

Try writing your own!

Testing of invitation

I exist only for the purpose of testing the "invite another author" function.

My mission is now completed. I shall remove myself shortly.

Happy writing to you all!

KARSON

My acrostic poem:

Knows a lot about chocolate
Acts like always 25 years old
Reads a book before bedtime every night
Sings in the shower at home
Opens up his mind to those who would listen
Needs to go jogging more often

All are welcome. Just write!

Writing has no boundary.
Writing has no restrictions.
Writing heals the mind.
Writing frees the spirit.

You write, therefore you are.
